I’m Adam.
I know a little about a lot and prefer 0 to 1 over 1 to n. I'm an infovore who thinks best by explaining ideas to others.
What keeps me busy right now:
- I’m raising two young boys to be the best possible versions of themselves.
- Building Astylab, an idea machine for better cities – a network that turns urban frustration into experiments and solutions (engaging 1,400+ urban innovators, researchers and city officials across meetups, digital platforms and programs). In 2025, we launched Astylab Founders, an incubation program for mission-driven entrepreneurs tackling urban and environmental challenges.
- I co-lead Astylab Ventures, a network of 70+ angel investors backing transformative impact startups. We've deployed €1.0M across 5 companies: Mosa (smart bike parking), Circuland (construction reuse), Novoville (citizen-city engagement), Koios Care (Parkinson's monitoring), and Puberry (youth mental health).
- I write Take Back the City, Greece's leading urbanism newsletter – 120+ editions, 194,000+ views, 45% open rate. I explore ideas without being sure of their quality. I might change my mind.
- I advise institutions, corporates and startups on innovation, finance and strategy.
Previously (in reverse chronological order):
- I spoke at Business Review Greece, Athens 2050, TEDx Lamia, Open Coffee Athens, and other events on cities, urban innovation, mobility and business.
- I led Kosmoride, the largest micromobility retailer in Greece.
- I founded Kineo, a vehicle-as-a-service micromobility company that operated 315,000 rental days, reached 1,200 vehicles, saved 420 tons of CO2, and was later acquired.
- I made Welcome Pickups a bit more financially-savvy and data-driven.
- I lived in London for a year and caught the urbanism bug by experiencing a life free of car dependency for the first time.
Opinions & Reflections (strong, weakly held)
- My operating mode is Kazantzakian. ‘Don't be tempted to ask, “Will we win? Will we be defeated?” Just fight!’. Or, don’t judge success by outcomes, rather focus on growth and purpose.
- My biology is Stoic. "In your actions, don't procrastinate. In your conversations, don't confuse. In your thoughts, don't wander. In your soul, don't be passive or aggressive."
- My politics are Rawlsian. “The principles of justice are chosen behind a veil of ignorance.”
